Today is Sankranti...... another festival of the weighty issues......


there was a grand day at total yesterday..... 40 feel very happy to have lost 1 kg in about four days I also met two girls one who has lost about 48 kgs!!!! can you believe it !!!!. she still looks a bit plump but that she has given up taking diabetic medicines.


It was not easy let me tell you there was days of consistent eating of only salads... it takes time to chew the grassy stuff... God has helped the ruminants with 4 stomachs and I know now why....


It takes so long to chew the salad that by the time I am done    the lunch break is over ...
I made the sesame seed and Jaggery sweet and ate a ton of that and so I will go for a walk today.


well let us hope for the best tomorrow

Today is friday the 13th  .


We could not go to Total because 14 (now 15) had a physics class and as a duty bound mother I felt that was more important than another day of Physiotherapy... also Motherin law is not happy with the fact 15 had left the door wide open when she went out for her Physics class. all this stress makes me reach out for that extra chocolate.


Today is Lori a Punjabi festival that bids adieu to the winter season and then there is sankranti round the corner.  This evening there are bon fires in all gardens

There is one in our township


can I resist the smell of fresh Jaggery and sesame seeds together that form the tasty gajjak - wonders 40


Another day comes with another challenge for the weak willed 40 as there are tasty sweet meats to cook for the kids husband and mother in law who relish and enjoy all these calorie bombs.  
In school all talks revolve around the tastier version that someone or the other knows.


I have got home 1/2 Kg Sesame seeds and 1/2 kg Jaggery


well it is the test of will power tomorrow

Any body who has stayed in India will know this smell.... the smell of evening chill mixed with the cold chilly wind, added to bhutta (indian corn) and chikki....

God help me resist the temptations that are beckoning me to their side in this chilly weather...

Day 1

The first day was termed education. Our dietitian, Smitha, was an angel .... she introduced us to the plan and the physiologist. The first day was only about getting to know about the balance between calorie consumption and calorie burnt ..... the real thing starts the day after, so technically the weight, I mean wait, is still not over :). 




it was a wednesday... 

Smita had already given us three days to follow a diet

and we had followed it meticulousness

It was 14's Birthday and she is to be 15 now

this is how we both look at this stage

6:30 lemon and warm water with honey *


7:15 two chappatis and cup of tea with no sugar*

then in the bus for school


the school cafeteria had idlis and sambhar for lunch.

at 10:00 AM was hungry enough to buy a packet of peanuts and eat that

Had two idlis smbhar adn DID NOT eat the sweet

came home after which ate one cucumber carrot and other salads.

It was 14's Birthday and she had wanted to eat a whole PIZZA at Dominoes and so she was not 



eating anythig in the day!!

At the gym it was a killer day, Vijay made us do the following


1. treadmill 15 min


2. Exercycle - 12 min and 


3. the cross trainer 10 min


then there was weight made us lift 1 kg in three ways
Stretches and then we were done

I was very happy with todays exercise... I feel good and there is ni pain associated with the 



normal weight trinings that I do

Is it because.... I have been doing heavier workouts or what????

Wonders 40

It was a satisfied sleep I went into Please God give me the will power to stick to the diet


tomorrow in school it will be a dead day with so many classes to take hope I have the will power 



to go on

Say hello to the slims :)

A warm hello to all
Our blog revolves around a goal ..... that is killing fat. In the process we hope to get the support of the whole slimming family so that in this endeavor we may be successful.
We are a team of two, one is 40 - the mother and then there is 14 - the adorable daughter, we have a common goal and that is to lose at least 30 kilos for 40 and 40 kilos for 14. 
So here starts the end of the weight
